BeCultured tempeh is made from four varieties of beans including: black beans, adzuki beans, black-eyed peas, and green lentils. We use these beans in place of soy beans, as made traditionally, making it a soy-free, plant-based protein. Additionally, BeCultured Tempeh is 100% organic and unpasteurized, bringing it’s health benefits to another level. We don’t want you to have to pick your poison, we want you to nurture your mind, body and soul with our product.
Storing Our Tempeh
Tempeh, as a living product, should be respected and treated like any high quality fresh produce. It should be stored either in the refrigerator, where it will last 7-10 days or kept in the freezer until ready to use, where it will last 4-6 weeks before the freezing process starts to break it down.
Cooking Our Tempeh
The beauty of tempeh is its versatility. It can be cooked with and treated as you would any other protein. It can be sliced, cubed or minced. It can be marinated, seasoned or cooked as is. It can be grilled, fried or baked… the only limitation is your imagination and preference.
